Our driver will pick you up around 7:30 a.m. at your accommodation or at the airport in Agadir. We will drive through the beautiful southern part of Morocco. Taroudant, our first stop, is one of the oldest cities in the country. Afterwards, we will continue to Taliouine, well known for its Safran production. After a while, we will reach Taznakht, where we will stop for lunch (optional). Now that our desert adventure is starting, we will take the off-road track towards the Erg Chegaga Desert with its beautiful dunes and unique silence. After a welcome drink, you’ll have a camel ride for a 1-hour tour, then back to the camp for an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast at Sahara Services Standard Desert Camp, Erg Chegaga.
After enjoying the sunrise upon the immense sand dunes, breakfast will be served in our desert camp tented restaurant. Today, you will enjoy a full day of desert exploration. You will live a nomadic life by learning more about the living style of this rare tribe. We will ride our camels deep into the Sahara Desert, with its stunning landscapes and rock formations. Lunch will be enjoyed in a beautiful, in the middle of nowhere. After another 2 hours on the back of our camels, we will be back at our camp in the late afternoon. Our morning drive takes us from Swiss lakes to Swiss Army. At the once-secret Swiss army bunker at Fortress Fürigen, we’ll see part of the massive defense system designed to keep Switzerland strong and neutral. Afterward, a short drive into the countryside brings us to the charming Alpine village of Engelberg, our picturesque home for the next two days. We’ll settle into our lodge then head out for an orientation walk. Our stroll through the village will end at the Engelberg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with its own cheese-making operation. You’ll have free time to wander back before dinner together. Sleep in Engelberg (2 nights). Bus: 1 hr. Walking: light.
